Alec Cunningham

President & Chief Executive Officer

Alec Cunningham has more than two decades of both government and industry leadership experience in Medicaid, Medicare and other publicly funded healthcare programs. He has a proven track record designing and launching some of the most innovative government-focused health care initiatives for the nation’s leading managed care companies.

Cunningham joined ConcertoHealth after serving for four years as CEO of WellCare Health Plans, which provides managed care services targeted to government-sponsored health care programs. He led the company through a sustained period of record profitability and also held a range of progressively expanding leadership and business development roles, including serving as President of WellCare’s largest operating division prior to his promotion to CEO. Cunningham joined WellCare’s executive team as Vice President of Business Development, leading the company to secure significant new Medicaid contracts in Georgia, Ohio, and Hawaii.

Prior to WellCare, Cunningham was Vice President of Business Development and Compliance at WellPoint Health Networks, Inc., overseeing national development and management of health care products for state-sponsored programs. He also worked for the Governor of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Health Care Authority, during the development and implementation of the state’s first Medicaid managed care program.

Cunningham earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California and an undergraduate degree in Economics from Oklahoma State University.

Toby Thomas has a proven track record leading healthcare provider organizations through strategic change and dramatic business growth, with more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience.

As President of Advanced ICU Care, Thomas oversaw sales, marketing, and business functions through 65% compounded core business growth and the company’s emergence as the largest tele-ICU provider in the U.S.

As Chief Executive Officer of Autism Spectrum Therapies, a provider of applied behavioral analysis therapy for individuals with autism, the company expanded into new markets, achieved 30% compounded annual client growth and grew to 400 employees strong.

During his tenure as Chief Financial Officer of Cogent Healthcare, Thomas was instrumental in driving the company’s business model, strategic direction, and operational performance during a period from pre-profit to profit with seven years of 35% compounded annual growth. Previously, Thomas was Vice President of Finance for Vivra Specialty Partners and began his career with Ernst & Young where he focused on the technology and healthcare sectors.

Thomas is a Certified Public Accountant and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business from UCLA, where he graduated magna cum laude.

Colin LeClair is an Accountable Care Organization (ACO) strategy expert and has held executive management positions at the nation’s leading medical groups and health plans focused on Medicare and Medicaid payment model innovations and operations.

As Senior Vice President of Accountable Care for Monarch Healthcare/Optum, he led national ACO market expansion efforts, responsible for architecting the provider alignment and medical management strategies that delivered national best practice improvements in cost, quality, and access. LeClair continues to be a close partner to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ Innovation Center (CMS/CMMI) around the design of future patient-centered payment models.

LeClair was also Chairman and Founder of the ACO Policy Committee for the California Association of Physician Groups and was a Board Member of the National Association of Accountable Care Organizations, the nation’s largest ACO trade association.

Previously he served as Vice President of ACO Operations at Heritage Provider Network’s Pioneer ACO, and as a Senior Consultant in L.E.K. Consulting’s Healthcare Services Practice. LeClair has also held executive positions at HealthSpring and WellCare Health Plans.

LeClair received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Walter A. Haas School of Business at University of California, Berkeley. He is a Certified Health Insurance Executive (CHIE).

Sampath Narayanan is a seasoned healthcare leader with international experience in management, strategy, technology, and operations in industries ranging from health insurance, medical group, hospice, medical devices, and provider industries.

Before joining Concerto, Narayanan was Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Health Essentials LLC, a family of companies including a medical group, hospices, pharmacy and medical devices companies focusing on caring for frail elderly and high-risk patients. Narayanan led the technology team and was responsible for managing technology strategy, operations, policies, and processes.

As Vice President and Head of Information Technology at Sanare LLC, a leading diabetes medical devices supplier, Narayanan conceptualized and led the implementation of a consumer health management portal, and a Diabetes Analytics and Interventions offering targeted at health plans.

Previously, Narayanan held positions at Cognizant Technology Solutions, a global provider of business and technology services, and Intel Corporation Digital Health Group, where he led a team analyzing business opportunities for Intel in emerging markets.

Narayanan earned a Master of Business Administration from Saïd Business School – University of Oxford, United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirapalli, India.

Chrissie Cooper brings two decades of medical group and health plan leadership experience to ConcertoHealth’s market operations as it expands its comprehensive medical management and value-based proprietary population health technology to provider networks and health plans nationwide.

Prior to joining ConcertoHealth, Cooper served as Chief Operating Officer for the California division of DaVita HealthCare Partners, Inc., an independent medical group that manages and operates employed and affiliated physician networks across the country. As COO, Cooper directed the group’s operations serving more than 630,000 members.

Cooper previously held the roles of President of Florida and the west region at WellCare Health Plans, which provides managed care services to 3.8 million members in government healthcare programs nationally. She has also held leadership roles at United HealthCare and PacifiCare Health Systems. In 2016, Cooper completed the Executive program at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

She earned a Master of Public Administration from the University of Arizona, where she also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Dr. Dodd has more than a decade of experience in both internal medicine and public health, caring for vulnerable patient populations. He has worked in some of the world’s most challenging settings, including India, Mozambique and Nicaragua. This training provided the experience and skills for him to be a leader in healthcare delivery for patients living with complex medical and behavioral health conditions, oftentimes affected by poverty, homelessness and social marginalization.

Prior to joining ConcertoHealth in 2016 as Regional Medical Director for the Washington market, Dr. Dodd cared for high-need, high-risk patients at Harborview Medical Center as an in-patient hospitalist. He also served as a physician leader at Seattle’s largest Federally Qualified Health Center, Neighborcare Health. There, he led successful team-based initiatives that resulted in better health outcomes, improved patient satisfaction and reduced costs of care, the triple aim in healthcare.

Dr. Dodd is a founding member and current president of the board of directors of Maravilla Health, an organization that supports community-based groups and public health systems in countries with limited resources. He also serves as a faculty member in the Department of Global Health at the University of Washington, where he teaches student health professionals.

Dr. Dodd earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Boston University School of Medicine and his Master of Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
